All milk produced for human consumption in Australia must be pastuerised. As the Jerseys are milked, refrigerated vats store and quickly cool their milk. Pasteurisation involves rapid heating of the milk to a specified temperature then cooling again to eliminate potentially harmful bacteria.
Homogenised milk has the cream distributed evenly throughout the milk. The milk is forced under pressure through a fine gap which evenly distributes fat particles through the milk. Unhomogenised milk will have a cream layer on top of the milk as it has not gone through the fine gap.
Our Jersey Milk is processed, bottled and labelled using conveyors and automated equipment, all carefully controlled and packed for distribution by our expert milk and cream handling team.
